Where to begin with my experience of Thelma? Thelma Bell was my mortgage advisor in the purchase of my first home. As a first time buyer, I was incredibly anxious and inexperienced. Thelma helped me every step of the way. She explained things in words I understood, gave me a variety of options, and clearly explained the pros and cons of each option. Thelma is incredibly client-focussed. She strives to understand the client's personal needs, goals and lifestyle, in order to give the best advice possible. I really felt Thelma went above and beyond for me. She made herself available whenever I needed advice or guidance. She made the entire journey as stress-free as possible (which is saying something, given how stressful buying a house is!). Thelma was also able to explain the process of buying a house "as a whole" to me. This was invaluable for me as I was navigating this process by myself. Thelma saw my needs "holistically", as was able to advise me accordingly. I am self-employed, and this means I don't have to set yearly salary. There can be some uncertainty with self-employment. Thelma understood this completely. I would recommend Thelma unreservedly, and I have already passed her details onto a number of people. If you are a young female buying by yourself, having Thelma by your side will really help you - I felt she understood everything about my lifestyle and financial needs/ goals. I would also specifically recommend Thelma if you are self-employed. She's not the type of advisor to encourage you to stretch yourself to your maximum borrowing capacity. She gives you realistic advice, and helps you to decide what you can manage now and in the long-term. Thanks to Thelma I now have the keys to my beautiful dream home.
