26 Feb 2026I can’t thank Dan and Nicole enough – they have honestly been brilliant. I was a bit cautious about using a service I’ve never heard of, but I have already recommended ‘Proper Advice’ to everyone in my family and every friend I’ve spoken to in the last couple of weeks 🤣 This is the first time remortgaging after buying my first property five years ago. I wasn’t planning on changing mortgage provider but after not getting the best deal I wanted from Nationwide, I went online and came across Proper Advice. I filled in some details and within half an hour someone had reached out to me to arrange for me to have a call with Dan. It probably wasn’t the easiest application for him to manage and I was unsure if I would get a decent deal given that I was doing a single mortgage application and wanted to release some of the equity I had in the property, so I assumed the offers would be limited. But Dan really put me at ease and explained that they had access to a number of providers and he wasn’t concerned at all that I wouldn’t get a good rate. That really helped me relax through what I expected to be a relatively stressful process and I really trusted that he was the expert and knew best. Within one day of making the application, Dan had secured me a mortgage offer from Halifax with one of the best rates being offered from a High Street lender at the moment. He sent me a full breakdown of the costs associated and how much I would be saving each month through using some of my equity to consolidate things like my car loan Etc. Within two days, Dan had introduced me to Nicole, who was going to manage a lot of the process with him and I am honestly so impressed by their professionalism and the speed in which they have completed everything in such a thorough way. I genuinely didn’t expect it to take less than three weeks between me first speaking to Dan and everything completing. I certainly didn’t expect to get such a good rate and to be able to borrow the amount that we wanted from our equity. Communication was really easy because I could reach out either on email or WhatsApp. There was no “AI Chatbot” - just direct contact with humans which is rare nowadays! 😊 Every time I had a query I got a very speedy response, and Nicole was very patient with me asking lots of questions as a first time remortgager! I was updated by both of them if they weren’t working on a certain day just in case I had a query and wanted to reach out so I knew who to go to in their absence. Not that I needed to because they had done such a thorough job and made sure they were on top of everything before they finished for the day. I hope that Proper Advice see Dan and Nicole’s value and know how great they have made this experience for me. They are both a credit to the company and are the reason I will absolutely be coming back to Proper Advice when my fixed rate is up in five years time 😊
